What is the purpose of this Web site?
For the next few months this site will explore various aspects of the Covenant of Bahá’u’lláh. Not only does this Covenant provide an unerring guide to help the individual improve his or her spiritual life — and to advance the progress of humanity — it is also the instrument that has allowed the Bahá’í community to remained unified throughout its 165 year history.
To study this material, a few times a week a question will be posted which focuses on a different aspect of the Covenant. The answers will include various quotations, stories and vignettes that help to shed light on the topic. The core documents that will be used throughout the study include “The Kitab-i-Ahd“, “The Will and Testament of Abdu’l-Baha“, “The Dispensation of Bahá’u’lláh” and “The Guardianship and the Universal House of Justice“. In addition, there will be selections from books such as “The Priceless Pearl”, “Memories of Nine Years in Akka”, and “The Covenant of Bahá’u’lláh” — the brilliant and comprehensive volume on the distinctive features of the Covenant of Bahá’u’lláh.
From time to time brief audio segments (and if possible video) will be included in order to elucidate the material.
