Issues Related to the Study of the Faith
Review of this compilation of guidance from the Universal House of Justice will allow the student of the Covenant to consider how issues related to the study of the Bahá’í Faith need to be approached in a fundamentally different way from the materialistic frameworks and practices that now prevail in the study of religion.
As the House of Justice explains in one of these letters, the emergence of “a global civilization which embodies both the spiritual and material dimensions of existence…will depend on a progressive interaction between the truths and principles of religion and the discoveries and insights of scientific inquiry.” These extracts also emphasize the responsibility of individuals to independently investigate truth without imposing their own personal understanding of the Bahá’í Faith on others or seeking to alter the essential character of the Faith.
